I blinked and now I have a two year old! Ellisyn is the sweetest little girly girl. E is still pretty petite, but that doesn't stop her! She still sleeps through the night and takes three to four hour afternoon naps. She'll eat about anything, except for green beans, and candy is her best friend. She loves jewelry, dolls, lipstick, Elsa, Mickey Mouse, Minions, bows, clothes, shoes, blankets, pizza, Winger's, and animals. A few of her favorite hobbies are visiting McKee's Pet Store, walking Elsa through the mall in her stroller, going to nursery, playing with cousins and friends, attending Idaho State events, and going to grandma's house. Daniel and I are shocked at how smart Ellisyn is for only being two years old. She says sentences, and often repeats anything we say, which we've found can be a blessing and a curse! Ellisyn can proudly tell you her name, Ellisyn Sciper, and that she's two. She also loves to point out any 'E' for Ellisyn and any 'S' for Sciper that she can see. She can often be found singing "Let it Go" or "Summer" from her favorite movie Frozen. It is so fun to watch her learn and grow. I have heard so many people tell me to beware of the "terrible two's", but Ellisyn proves time and time again that she is such a good girl! I like to call it the "terrific two's", because this age has proven to be so fun and really entertaining.
A few days before Ellisyn's actual birthday, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Brandi stopped by to deliver Ellisyn's birthday present. They gave her a dwarf hamster last year, so we were frighteningly prepared for whatever they thought of this year. Ryan and Brandi are known for giving the nephews and nieces pets for each birthday, so my entire family came down to see what new member would be welcomed to the family. We were all actually pleasantly surprised when Ryan walked in with the cutest little kitten. Ellisyn was absolutely thrilled! She looked inside the carrier and calmly said, "It's a cat", and immediately began loving on it with some nice kisses right on the mouth. We decided to name him Rudy, and he has really started to grow on us. Rudy stays outside, but we occasionally bring him inside so Ellisyn can smother him with hugs and kisses.
Ellisyn's birthday was on a Sunday, so we decided to have her actual party on Saturday. Ellisyn's grandma and grandpa Spicer even flew up from Arizona to celebrate with us! The theme of her party was an easy decision. She chose a Frozen theme, of course. I was satisfied because Elsa decorations are easily accessible in pretty much every single store. Thanks to some decent weather, we were able to have her party at the new Porteneuf Wellness Complex. We had Frozen inspired photo props, Elsa cupcakes, melted snow water bottles, and an Olaf piƱata. We also had a game for the adults to play called "Finish Each Other's Sandwiches", where each couple had help their partner make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with one hand behind their back. Ellisyn was completely spoiled by all of her friends and family. All of her presents had to do with Frozen, and she was so excited. She even took the time after every present to really look at it instead of just moving right to the next gift. It makes Daniel and I so happy to know that everyone else loves Ellisyn as much as we do!
After her big Elsa party, we went with just Ellisyn's grandparents to her favorite restaurant for dinner. She got her favorite alfredo and a chocolate chip cookie dessert. I hope she had a very special day, because she is such a special girl! Happy Birthday, Ellisyn!
