Day One: Leaving on a Jet Plane.

After months of planning, saving, and preparing, our paper chain count down finally shrank down to the last link. We were leaving on a jet plane in one day. We were going to Europe.

We didn't really have to wake up Friday morning, because we hardly slept due to our extreme excitement for the next 10 days of our lives. We first flew from Pocatello to Salt Lake, and then our European adventure officially began!

Our next fight was a direct flight from Salt Lake City to Paris, France!

It was an incredibly long flight, but after eleven hours on a plane, I got my first glimpse of France...

We landed in Paris, France around eleven Saturday morning and decided to conquer the jet lag by continuing to stay awake throughout the rest of the day. We went straight from the airport to the Eiffel Tower for a bike tour of Paris as quickly as possible, but we were still almost an hour late. We were, however, still able to catch up with the rest of the tour. After catching up with the bike tour, Daniel got a flat tire. The tour guide stopped to air up his tire a couple times before he finally decided to change the tire completely. First we were late, and then we held up the entire tour because of a flat tire. I'm sure the rest of the group loved us. We had a great time though. It was such a fun and active way to see Paris, and may have been my favorite tour of the entire trip.

By the end of our first day of travel, we were exhausted to say the least! We had been awake for nearly two days straight, but it was so worth it! We were certainly ready for some sleep, but we were still excited to find out what day two would deliver.
