Day Six: Versailles

By day six our time in France was coming to an end, because we were scheduled to catch the bullet train from Paris to Brussels that afternoon. We had a tour of Versailles before we said au revior to France and Bonjour to Belgium.

Versailles is where the king moved his palace from the Lourve. It is unbelievable to see how extravaget royalty lived. From the gardens to the palace, it was amazing and almost disgusting that people lived that way! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

The bullet train from Paris to Brussels was so nice! It felt great to take a nap while going 200 miles per hour! When we got to Brussels and got the rental car, we got back on the road to go to a small town called Gent. We went on a walking tour of Gent that evening, which was amazing. The tour guide would take us through the streets of Gent, describing its history. Gent was one of the few towns that wasn't touched by the Germans in World War II, so the buildings were very interesting and old. While touring the streets, the tour guide would take us to a restaurant for the appetizer followed by the main course and dessert at different restaurants. It was so fun to experience the scenery and the cuisine all in one tour.

  2. Love the pics!! I agree with Amy, keep 'em coming! As I sit and look at this I'm getting really jealous... someday we will all have to go to Europe together. I'm thinking a tour of Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy. Just to cover all the languages.
