Christmas 2014.

This Christmas season was, without a doubt, just as magical as every Christmas before it. It was maybe a little more exciting than most because Ellisyn was much more into it than last year, even if she didn't really know what all the celebrations were about. The holiday season started with the Sargent's Christmas Kickoff, which immediately follows every Thanksgiving. The kids get Christmas jammies, treats, and holiday books from Grandma and Grandpa. My mom and dad also give each couple some holiday home decor to add to our growing collections. The Christmas Kickoff has become such a fun tradition. The adults enjoy it just as much as the grandkids!

A friend that went to high school with Daniel has started her own little photography business. She was doing a giveaway for a free mini-session, and guess who won?! I did! I was thrilled to be able to get some fun Christmas photos of my cutest girl to share with family and friends. They turned out absolutely adorable, and they will definitely become a part of my Christmas decorations for years to come!

We had the annual ward Christmas party where Santa Claus paid a visit.  This was Ellisyn's first encounter with Santa Claus for the season, and she was less than impressed.

Luckily for Ellisyn, the Treehouse Daycare had a fun little Christmas performance where Santa Claus came again. She liked him the second time about as much as the first.

Ellisyn still doesn't walk, but we still had to corner the Christmas tree between the couch and the loveseat to keep our little scooter away from all the tempting lights, beads, and ornaments that constantly caught her eye!

We did lots of the usual Christmas activities, but one of our new favorites was borrowing the daycare's fifteen passenger van to take the whole family around town and look at all of the Christmas lights. That van was full of many laughs and created an unforgettable memory!

Christmas Eve was spent eating dinner at Winger's with the entire Sargent crew. Winger's has always been mine and Daniel's favorite restaurant and Ellisyn seems to like it just as much! It was so fun to do something a little different and, of course, to be with a few of our favorite faces!

I think Daniel and I were more excited about Christmas morning than Ellisyn was, mostly because she had no clue the fun that was ahead of her. We woke her up bright and early to watch her butt-scoot out to the Christmas tree where all of her presents were waiting. She got a play kitchen that was an immediate hit.

After having our own little Christmas with the three of us at home, we went up to Grandma and Grandpa Sargent's house to have our traditional Christmas morning breakfast before exchanging more gifts. Ellisyn got a balance bike and we got a beautiful painted picture of the Idaho Falls temple. We are so blessed to have such wonderful families, and we look forward to being with them every chance we get.

Daniel and I laid down after a long Christmas day filled with endless fun and we both came to the conclusion that Christmas is so much more fun when you have a kid. Ellisyn made the day so fun, and she's also a constant reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. She reminds us of our Savior, and the opportunity he gave us to be an eternal family. We are so grateful for that, and we're so grateful to have each other!
